Meet your travel fam
Meet your guide around 5:45pm at a hotel in downtown Reykjavik (TBA). During this time, you will have an introductory meeting to discuss the itinerary and enjoy a welcome dinner with your new travel family. GOLDEN CIRCLE TOUR
Gullfoss falls, Geysirs & Secret Lagoon
Each day, you’ll set off between 8-9am. Begin your adventure with a tour of the Golden Circle, a 190-mile route that showcases three of Iceland’s most significant natural wonders. Stroll through the tectonic rift valley of Þingvellir National Park, be amazed by the lively Geysir Geothermal Area, and experience the mist of Gullfoss, the impressive 105-foot waterfall known as the Golden Falls.
Your next destination is the Friðheimar greenhouse, where you can discover how geothermal heating is utilised to cultivate vegetables. Enjoy the experience of picking fresh tomatoes right from above your table as you savour lunch. Conclude your day by relaxing in the Secret Lagoon, the oldest geothermal pool in Iceland, nestled among natural hot spring baths.

SOUTH COAST EXPLORATION
Glacier hike & black sand beaches
Today, you will immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of Iceland’s South Coast. Start by visiting the impressive Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which stands at 200 feet tall. If conditions allow, take the opportunity to walk behind the falls for that famous perspective through the archway. Next, proceed to the majestic Skógarfoss waterfall, and then embark on approximately three hours of moderate glacier hiking on the Sólheimajökull glacier, which sits atop the Katla volcano.
Walk along on black sand beaches, then hike through the Fjaðrárgljúfur, a lush green canyon with a river carving through jagged cliffs. Spend the night in Kirkjubæjarklaustur or close by.

DIAMOND BEACH
Ice Caves & Glacier Lagoon
A new day brings new natural wonders. With an off-road journey in a large jeep, you’ll access ice caves created by glaciers. Accompanied by an expert guide, explore 700-year-old ice formations and marvel at the turquoise-hued crystal caves.
Your next destination is the Glacier Lagoon, followed by a visit to Diamond Beach. This unique location, with its black sand and sparkling icebergs, is unlike anywhere else on the planet. Finally, settle into your hotel in Höfn, known as the lobster capital of Iceland, and anticipate a delightful dinner.

3 mile hike to Hengifoss falls
This day focuses on the cultural discovery of the East Fjords. Explore historic homes along the coastline and visit charming villages like Djúpivogur. Enjoy a 3-mile hike to Hengifoss, a stunning waterfall that plunges 420 feet into a gorge. You’ll then spend the remainder of the day and the night in Egilsstaðir, the largest town in East Iceland, immersing yourself in its local culture!

THE GREAT NORTH
Waterfall of the Gods
Start off your day with a drive to Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe, which is fed by a river originating from Vatnajökull, the largest glacier on the continent. Explore the waterfall and make your way past the highest inhabited location in Iceland. Your next destination is the Námaskarð geothermal area, a Mars-like landscape with no vegetation, yet adorned with a striking array of colours that streak through the earth.
Proceed to Lake Mývatn, where you’ll have the opportunity to discover the surroundings. A walk through the nearby lava field will evoke strong Game of Thrones imagery. Your second-to-last stop is Goðafoss, known as the “Waterfall of the Gods,” which represents Iceland’s transition from Norse mythology to Christianity. Upon arriving in Akureyri, your accommodation for the night, you can take a leisurely walk around the city and sample its diverse offerings of Icelandic cuisine.

TROLL PENINSULAR
Whale watching
Dress in a cosy flotation suit and hop aboard a fishing boat in Dalvík! Enjoy a three-hour sail through the fjords, keeping an eye out for whales along the way. After the boat excursion, take a scenic drive through Tröllaskagi, the Troll Peninsula, where every twist and turn reveals stunning new vistas. Conclude your day at Hotel Bifröst (or a comparable hotel), a delightful establishment situated next to the ancient volcano Grábrók.

Arrowhead mountain
Experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in West Iceland and embrace the enchantment of being near the Snæfellsjökull glacier. Visit Kirkjufell, famously known as the Arrowhead mountain from Game of Thrones, and journey to the centre of the Earth, as imagined by Jules Verne. Head to Ytri Tunga beach, one of the top locations for seal watching in Iceland! Return to Reykjavik for a farewell dinner with your group.

Schedule your flight for the afternoon to enjoy a relaxing dip in the Blue Lagoon, which is just a 20-minute drive from the airport. As a wonderful conclusion to your trip, immerse yourself in this stunning turquoise geothermal spa set within a lava field. If you wish to extend your stay in the land of ice and fire, you’re welcome to return to Reykjavik with your guide. However, if you’re ready to head home and excited to review all the amazing photos from your adventure, transportation to the airport will be arranged.

From witnessing the magical northern lights to exploring ice caves and black sand beaches, Iceland is a destination that captivates with its untamed wilderness and rich Viking heritage.

We have found that women are more likely to step out of their comfort zone and try new activities when they are surrounded by other supportive women. All of the tour operators we work with believe that adventure is for every woman no matter your background, ability, body type, or orientation, and are handpicked for total safety and quality.
This winter hiking tour in Iceland is beginner-friendly! No special skills are required, as you’ll be walking and sightseeing for the majority of the tour. You’ll only do two hikes lasting around 3 hours, but other than that, you’ll be leisurely exploring Iceland!
When is the final payment date?
This adventure can be booked with a £200 deposit. The remainder of the balance will be paid 70 days prior to departure. If booking within 70 days prior to departure then full payment will be required.

This tour requires a minimum of 6 people to run.
What is the max number of hikers on this trip
There can be up to 16 women on this trip, although that is rarely the case.
Arrival and departure location
Most people fly into Keflavik International Airport (KEF). From there, you have a 45-minute drive to Reykjavik by bus or a cab. Buses leave the airport every hour, 24/7, so you don’t have to worry about your options.
It’s of your own choice when you want to arrive in Iceland, however, you should be ready to meet your guide at 17:45 pm at your hotel in downtown Reykjavik.

What will the accommodation be like?
You will be staying in twin rooms at hotels, each equipped with a private bathroom. If you prefer to request a single room, please note that there is an additional charge of 100,000 ISK, which represents the exact extra cost imposed by the hotels.
Will I need a sleeping bag?
No. Your hotel will be providing a warm room and enough blankets for a cosy night.

VISA & PASSPORT INFO
Passport
As a general rule most countries expect that your passport has a minimum of 6 months validity remaining. Please ensure the name on your passport matches the name on your booking and airline tickets. Your passport details are required to complete your booking. Your Adventuress Travel Mentor will contact you when this is required. Take a copy of the main passport pages and other important documents with you, and leave another copy at home with family or friends.
Visas & Entry Requirements
Visas are the responsibility of the individual traveller. Entry requirements can change at any time, so you must check for the latest information. Please visit the relevant consular website of the country or countries you’re visiting for detailed and up-to-date visa information specific to your nationality. Your Adventuress Travel Mentor will also be happy to point you in the right direction with acquiring visas. Visas can take several weeks to process, so familiarise yourself with any requirements as soon as you have booked your trip to allow for processing time.
CURRENCY
The currency of Iceland is Icelandic Krona, however everywhere accepts card payment if wishing to purchase snacks whilst in Iceland.
Contingency Funds
The operators of this tour try to plan for every eventuality, but there are still some things beyond their control so they reserve the right to change an itinerary after departure due to local circumstances or a Force Majeure Event. In such emergency circumstances, the additional cost of any necessary itinerary alterations will be covered by you. Please note Adventuress in the Wild or the tour operator are not responsible for any incidental expenses that may be incurred as a result of the change of itineraries including but not limited to non-refundable flights.

You will need good general health for this trip. If you are unwell, please stay at home and contact us to make alternative arrangements.

Drinking Water
Please bring a water bottle that you can refill with tap water at the hotels. Your local guide will direct you to the best places to fill up.
What is the food like during the trip?
Most meals are not included in this trip, with the exception of breakfast; however, your local guide will arrange stops at delightful cafés and restaurants for lunch and will make dinner reservations for the group each evening at the hotel or a nearby eatery.
In Iceland, vegetarian and vegan options are widely available, and travellers can easily order and pay for their meals independently.
Are snacks provided during this tour? Or do you recommend that we bring our own?
Snacks are not included. However, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to buy snacks at local shops during this trip.
CLIMATE AND SEASONAL INFO
This trip is run during the winter and so the weather is very cold, dark and unpredictable, but also beautiful and full of activities. You may encounter rain, wind, or even snow. Being physically prepared to handle adverse conditions is essential. Prepare for ever-changing weather and dress warm (water and windproof), avoid cotton.
Who is the trip host?
Your leader on this will be a highly experienced Icelandic female leader. The aim of the group leader is of course to take any stress and hassle out of your travels, to maintain the highest level of safety at all times, and to help you have the best trip possible. She will provide information and history on the places you are travelling through and offer suggestions for things to see and do, much as a recognised guide would.

Personal medication: Kept in an accessible location in your pack
Passport: Your passport should have an expiry date at least six months after the final day of travel.
