SURREY HILLS HIKE: Box Hill & The Stepping Stones – Sat 22nd June

£15.00

10:15am Saturday 22nd June

Lets get together for one of our favourite all time hikes close to London.
We’ll make a steady scenic climb up to Box Hill where we can take a moment to drink in some spectacular views across Surrey Hills, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We will then go on an undulating journey through woodland and countryside with plenty of opportunities to take breaks and connect with the nature that surrounds us.

Highlights:

  • This hike includes an exclusive boot demo of Danner hiking boots!*
  • Epic views from Box Hill of Surrey Hills AONB
  • The famous Stepping Stones
  • Broadwood Tower
  • Small group adventure with like-minded Adventuresses

*This hike includes an exclusive boot demo of Danner hiking boots (as featured in the movie Wild) The head of Danner UK will be along at the start of the hike to give you the opportunity to try a pair of Danners during this hike (There will only be one of each size). This is completely optional of course, but an opportunity not to miss if you would like to try out some ‘high end’ boots! AITW founder Kate broke in her boots in the sahara desert with no issues! But it’s still recommended to carry your own boots with you just incase.

Is this hike challenging?
We take our hikes at a relaxed pace and leave nobody behind. Some find this hike challenging due to the numerous hills we encounter, some are of a steep gradient both up and down. You must be comfortable with walking 14km with a total hike time of 5hr between breaks. Not recommended for those with historical knee complaints.

Food

There is a coffee shop at the start of the hike, however it is advised to bring your lunch and snacks with you. We will stop for two short breaks

Can I bring my dog?

Pups are welcome but must be kept on lead throughout the entire duration of the hike without exception. This is due to livestock, unpredictable country roads, other dogs, other attendees potential allergies, and attendees keeping hold of their lunch during breaks. Be aware that at the start of the hike is a briefing, during which time some pups become quite anxious.

Will we hike if it’s raining?
Yes! Bring your waterproofs

What happens if theres a rail/tube strike?

If a strike or works threatens to interrupt this hike then we will attempt to find a different route that is accessible or the hike will be postponed. We do not offer refunds unless we are forced to cancel the event or you cannot make the next available date.
