10:30am SATURDAY 30th March – Easter Weekend!

We will be hiking the stunning Seven Sisters coastal path from Seaford to Birling Gap. The photo opportunities are endless, with striking views of white cliffs rising from the ocean. After our hilly hike we will rest on beautiful Birling Gap Beach with a hot drink (or local craft beer)

Highlights:

  • Fact filled hike of the famous white Seven Sisters cliffs
  • Relaxing on Birling Gap Beach with some local craft beer or hot chocolate
  • Strolling along the winding Cuckmere River
  • Sampling the best section of the ‘South Downs Way’

Meeting point:

This hike starts and ends at Seaford Train Station. There are trains that run from London Victoria with 1 change (Please note the change time is 4 minutes). It is recommended to use Trainline to look up times and prices to arrive on time. It is recommended to purchase an open return

**You must booked on to join the hike. We cannot keep the group waiting for late arrivals and do not send our live location or route, so ensure you arrive on time**

The hike ends at Birling Gap beach where you will have the option to join us for a bevy on the beach. From there you are all able to walk 20 minutes alone or with the group to the bus stop to ride back to Seaford (ride time 15 minutes)

  • Distance: 14km
  • Elevation Gain: 376m
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Estimated hike time: We are expected to arrive to Birling Gap beach between 3-4pm.

I am nervous to join alone

Most of the events are attended by solo Adventuresses, and they usually confess to being nervous to join us for the first time, so you already have something in common! We make great efforts to get everybody involved and talking so nobody will feel left out 🙂

Is this hike challenging?

This hike is classed as moderate. You should be comfortable with hiking for a total hike time of 3.5-4hr. The trail is mostly on unpaved trails and is also undulating with a lot of inclines. If it has rained it can be slippery on the hills.

Food

Please bring your own lunch and snacks. There will also be food and drinks sold from the cafe at Birling Gap, but this will be towards the end of the hike.

Will we hike if it’s raining?

Yes! Bring your waterproofs

Is there parking if I drive?

Please look up parking in advance if coming by car. Recommended to stay in a carpark that allows more than 8hr stay. There is a car park at the station but it fills up quickly, so it’s a good idea to have a plan B!
Please allow enough time as we will depart promptly at 10:30am.

What happens if theres a rail strike?

Should a rail strike mean that trains to Seaford are cancelled then this event will be cancelled and you will be offered credit for a future hike or a refund. Rail providers are refunding tickets in the event of a strike.
